Wilderness Health Pilot Programs
Diagnostic & Therapy Pilot
The Ambulatory Therapy and Diagnostic Assessment program allows primary care providers to refer patients to an easy-to-use platform. This platform, developed by Adaptive Telehealth, connects patients to available mental health providers. Adults and kids can easily be supported. Patients can view what insurances each provider takes, a list of times they are available and their special areas of interest. This helps patients or parents pick the provider that is best for them. Appointments are available within two weeks of the referral.
Through this program patients can be referred for diagnostic assessments, long-term therapy, or short-term therapy. Short-term therapy can be used to fill the gap until patients are able to get into another practice, get a learning plan in place with a school, or address short term goals the patient may have. Wilderness Health believes that the short-term therapy will help to cover the wait times for long-term therapy options and provide patients with options in the in-between.

Emergency Department Telepsychiatry Pilot
With the help of Northern Minnesota native Chandra White (APRN, CNP, PMHFNP) and Adaptive Telehealth, Wilderness Health implemented the Emergency Department TeleMental Health program at North Shore Health.
Through this program the doctors onsite at participating clinics have been provided increased options for specialized mental health services. The staff can connect patients in crisis to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Chandra White through a secure and easy-to-use video visit platform. White has an office on the Iron Range in Minnesota and is very familiar with the north shore and the residents who brave the winters there. By connecting patients with psychiatric care through telehealth in the Emergency Department, North Shore Health can set patients on a path to wellness.
In addition to patient connection, doctors and other members of the care team are able to use the time with NP Chandra White to ask questions and gain further knowledge on mental health resources.
